2022 Chardonnay Russian River Valley Peugh
The beauty of making wine in a shared facility. I witnessed this wine for 5 years before getting the chance to source from what very well could be some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in California.
70 year old vines! Dry farmed.
In 2022 I was told the grapes were spoken for. Later in the growing season, in a change of luck, I got a phone call they were available!
Friends, please drink more Chardonnay. I make Chardonnay that is clean, precise, nuanced, and evokes mouthwatering acidity on the palate.
The first release of Peugh is charming on the nose, leading with white flowers, flint, quince paste, honeysuckle, and petrichor. The palate is precise and pure filled with stone fruit, nectarine, and a little green apple acidity. This wine has lithe prominent acidity.
This wine is the case & point for trying Chardonnay.
